Photo Sharing!

So as i said before i want to stick with Google accounts and i locked into my Gmail and pulled up the Picasa Photo sharing they offer. What a SURPRISE to me they already had a photo account created for me!! It had all my blog photos and Google photos on their! Technology is so convenient sometimes!

GardentQuest

So I am now attempting my first lesson plan in GardenQuest. It seems to be very complicated at first, but I think I am now more confident navigating and editing the page. We will see the outcome . . YIKES! New things are some times intimidating.

Rationales, Rationales, Rationales

So I have work training in Las Vegas all weekend! I need to somehow fit in all the Rationales that are due as well as attend a total of 24 hours of work training. . wish me luck! We can't forget I also MUST do some shopping while there :) Have a great weekend everyone.

Bookmarks

Wow! so with this class I am creating so many Usernames and Passwords to everything. So to simplify everything just a little bit I am attempting to stick with good for my bookmarks. So here is the link to my bookmarks. Hope you enjoy them. It's a really fun idea to have bookmarks.

No More Wiki Confusion!

I may not have mastered the wiki's but i do understand them more. I have created my own wiki about education as well as edited a wiki! My own wiki still needs to be edited but it will start coming along in no time at all! So the wiki I chose to edit was about Banana Bread . . this i can say I have a lot of knowledge about. I have failed and succeeded in making Banana Bread so I edited the page adding some quick tips for making your banana bread recipe more quick and easy! We will see if the edits go through! This has been great fun to learn about.

How does this apply to my teaching . . .

Dr. Davis asked this question in class today. I am seeing actual applications that i can use later after this class if finished. The blog is going to be a huge asset to me and my class. I will be able to post assignments and announcements and keep parents up to date. With the photostory I will be able to have my students create stories for a photo/science project. WebQuest.org will be a great tool i can use this to create lessons and borrow lessons from other users. The UEN website is a great tool to stay up to date on the latest of education. The application is everywhere!! I am loving this class.

Electronic Portfolio

So today we learned about the different web sites we will use for our E-Portfolio. I am getting excited to create the E-portfolio. With everything that we created over the time of this class i am seeing how it will all come together and help me create my portfolio. This class has really opened my eyes about all that is available for teachers. Technology is such an asset to a teacher if they can utilize it properly.

Wiki . . huh?

So I thought I was pretty computer savvy. However we are learning about wikis. I knew about Wikipedia but there is so much more to it than just that. We can create our own wiki for a classroom, we can edit wikis. I am finding out quickly that not just anyone can go edit a wiki they have to have approved information by the administrator and an actual wiki account. It's a growing information system. It's a great way to learn from each other.

Rationale

I sure hope i did the Rationale right. I just turned it in. This class is going great. I have to admit sleeping in this morning was terrific. However i am excited to log onto class tomorrow morning 7 AM. . Whoot whoot!! i hope all the kinks are worked out this time! If not we will work with what we have. See you all bright and early

Manic Monday

Today's online class didn't go as smooth as we had hoped. Dr. Davis was kicked out of the system a few times. However we got it all worked out. Gotta love technology. I had the chance to create a photo story about me and my husband. I picked this topic because he is such a support to me in my journey in becoming a teacher. I couldn't do this without this constant encouragement. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks!

RSS Feeds . . Thank you Google :)

My Sociology teacher once told me "your generation is the Google generation" Meaning if we don't know something we automatically say "hey why no just Google it??" I have been assigned to share with my class what i know about RSS feeds. Not knowing what an RSS Feed was what did I do?? you guessed it, I pulled up my Google page. Naturally it led me to YouTube. Gotta love it! enjoy the video it brought much clarity to me!

The week in Educational Techonolgy

I am loving my class. I have already learned so much. We had the oppurtunity to work the "SmartBoard" on Friday. It's amazing! It's a touch screen. We had the chance to play around with it and see how it works. It's comparable to an iPad but a lot bigger. It's amazing what they have come up with. The catch is the board is expensive so when I graduate I will most likely have to apply for a grant to receive one. Time and time again throughout this course i am shows how technology can be an assistant in the classroom. It's getting better and better! I can't wait to see what the next week brings.

Copy Rights

Today in class we learned about Copy Rights. I was so surprised to find out about some of the circumstances that breaches the Copy Right Laws. It makes me very aware as an educator just how important it is to be knowledgeable on the subject. Copy Right law suits are very dominant with computer software. I am excited to research more articles about this topic!

Day 2

The blog is coming a long nicely. I have been learning a lot in the class so far. I am loving the UEN Website. It is a great resource for teachers. I was apprehensive about all the technology we have been using. But, after I played around with the different programs I am seeing just how exciting teaching with technology can be!

Blogging for Edu 2500 :)

Today we created a blog for our Education 2500 class. It's really fun so far working with the different backgrounds and gadgets. I have a blog for me and my husband but i am really excited about this blog. I love the class so far, it's extremely interactive. I am learning a lot.
